Both “veranda” and “verandah” are correct spellings of the same word. The term refers to a covered, open-air structure that typically extends from the side or front of a building. The choice between “veranda” and “verandah” is primarily a matter of regional preference or personal style. In American English, “veranda” is more commonly used, while “verandah” is favored in British English and other international variants. Regardless of the spelling, a veranda/verandah is a delightful addition to any home, providing a shaded outdoor area for relaxation and enjoyment.
